Patient Comfort Programs

Patient Comfort is what we do!  This means, enhancing the hospital experience for patients, families and staff while here at the hospital.  Below are some of the major projects we’ve funded:

Since 1982, the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary’s Brighten Group has contributed over $5M to Patient Comfort Programs including:
  • $50K to the Surgery Program for the purchase of an Exera II Mobile Endoscopy Workstation
  • $21K to the Surgery Program for the purchase of a Dolphin II Hysteroscopic Fluid Management System
  • $49K to the Rheumatology Department for the purchase of a GE Venue 40 Muscloskeletal System and related materials
  • $10K to Emergency Services for the purchase of a C Arm V Ray Stretcher
  • $25K to Diagnostic Imaging for the purchase of a Vacuum Assisted Mammography Biopsy device
  • $35K to the Oncology Department for the purchase of 3 Virtual Sky Ceilings
  • $500K contribution to the Foundation for the purchase of a PET/CET Scan unit
  • $250K contribution to establish the hospital’s Multi Faith Chapel

Aside from major projects, the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary’s Brighten Group also maintains a focus on the following  Patient Comfort Programs on an ongoing basis:

Warm Hearts Program
Provides comfort and care for patients, families and staff across all areas of the hospital.

Oncology Care Program
Provides comfort to patients and families during cancer treatment

Active Living Program
Helping elderly patients maintain an active lifestyle while in the hospital
